In case you receive the Schiit - Modi 3E with a manufacturing defect, please raise a return request within 7 days of delivery.

However, if you receive an incorrect / damaged / different product or one with missing accessories, please raise a return request within 24 hours of delivery. In case you receive a product with a missing, incorrect, or faulty accessory, you will be given a replacement accessory instead of the entire product.

Please make sure that the product is in the original packaging with all the accessories it came with. We'll also need an unboxing video and images of the parcel to investigate about the discrepancy. You may be asked to share images of the product and the packaging received for us to determine the damage or defect prior to approving the return request. The free replacement will be shipped only once the original order is returned.

A replacement will be issued only if:

Plug Modi 3E into virtually any computer or streamer, and you are ready to go, complete with the best USB interface available: Schiit's own Unison USB™. Or, choose an optical or coaxial digital source with the included wall power supply. Or connect to your phones and tablets that need a low-power-draw device, again using the wall power supply. Modi 3E accepts pretty much any input you can throw at it! If you're using headphones, add a Magni for its preamp outputs for volume control. You only need to add an SYS Passive Preamp if you aren't using headphones to regulate the analogue volume.

SKILLFULLY DESIGNED AND BUILT IN THE USA AND FUSED WITH THOUGHTFUL INPUTS AND OUTPUTS

Modi 3E's build is smooth yet elegant, with high-quality metal housing. All Schiit audio products are designed and made in California. Chassis, boards, transformers, assembly, and other components of the complete Modi 3E production are made primarily in the USA. The team of engineers at Schiit have designed the Modi 3E to incorporate multiple inputs and outputs for easy connectivity and compatibility. The front panel consists of Power LED, which lights up when you have Modi 3E plugged into a computer or an external power source. It also comprises the Input Selector switch, which allows you to toggle and switch between inputs. When it is at the top, Unison USB™ input is enabled. Coaxial input is enabled when it is at the bottom, and Optical (Toslink) input is enabled when it is in the middle. The rear panel consists of RCA Analog Outputs, Coaxial Digital Input, Optical Digital Input, USB Data and Power Input, and Power Input.

NOTE: If you’re using Modi 3E as a USB only DAC, you don’t need Power Input. Just connect it to your computer with the supplied USB Micro cable and you’re set.
If you’re using the other digital inputs, and you’re NOT using USB, you need Power Input. Modi 3E won’t work without power, and power comes from USB.

Great sounding DAC

Saw some reviews and bought this to connect Samsung LED TV via optical and laptop via USB. Sound clarity is amazing. Only pain is lack of volume control on the front panel which would have made it even greater.

Not at all a piece of 'Schiit'. One of the best entry level DACs

My current setup: Raspberry Pi with a Digi Hat running Volumio acts as the streamer. Marantz PM6006 is the Amp and DAC. Speakers are Dali Zensor 3. I mostly play FLAC files. I decided to buy an external DAC as the next step towards incrementally improving my setup.
After considering few other DACs I zeroed on to Schiit Modi 3E. HFZ as always delivered it on the next day. I did lots of A/B testing of Modi 3E against the inbuilt DAC of PM6006 (which is already a decent one). I do not know how to articulate the difference; I am not a great listener who can differentiate minor changes. However, as a casual listener I can say that the sound with Modi 3E is more pleasing to listen and I am incredibly happy with the purchase.
