The LC-RE Pro 2022 is made with 20 monocrystalline copper wires, 15 monocrystalline pure silver wires, and ten monocrystalline copper wires that have been gold-plated. The 360 wires are contained inside the eight strands of the LC-RE Pro 2022 cable. Because there are more wires in the cable than in the previous generation, each channel's wire diameter has increased to 24AWG. Because of this, impedance and signal transmission loss is effectively reduced due to the increased conductor diameter and cross-sectional area. In the end, this increases the effectiveness of signal transmission and produces better sound. The upgrades to the LC-RE Pro 2022 not only come from the increase in the number of wires; but also from different proportions of the amount of each type of wire. Gold, silver and copper are allocated in a 2:3:4 ratio for the optimal balance of speed, warmth, and detail.

My understanding is that although the treble is crispier with the LC-RD, it isn't tamed well enough by the stock cable, which tends to make the treble region ear piercing (especially for someone as treble sensitive as me)..
The LC-RE cable manages to tame the treble region very well, especially with the likes of IEMs like FH9 and Sony IER-Z1R. The stock cable of FiiO FH9 (LC-RD Pro) makes the treble a bit too crisp and ear piercing IMO. I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that this is due to the Gold layer in the cable, which probably adds some sheen to the highs.. The difference is minimal, yet highly rewarding as the overall tonal balance of the FH9 gets very refined. The Z1R sounded a little dull with its stock cable (especially after trying it out with the LC-RE Pro).
The build quality, metal connectors and modular terminations make it an excellent cable. SQ wise, it impressed me a lot more than the likes of Effect Audio Eros S, Ares S and Campfire Audio Super Smoky Litz. Effect Audio however has a ConX option, which makes it easy to use the cable with pretty much any IEM.
